Smaug Happy Birthday Card

Hello friends! Today is my hubby's birthday and I made
a special card for him....

We are big fans of The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings. I am so happy that I found this adorable Smaug image on google. I wish I knew the artist to give credit because I am in love with it! I made it into an svg to make hubby this card. I am getting better at making my own svg's using Make The Cut software. I wasn't sure if it was still supported but I emailed the company and they promised they would be doing more updates so I purchased it.  This svg turned out terrific! I love that I can make any themed card I choose for my family and friends!  I made it pretty big, sized at 5.5"x 7.5". I like to make my birthday cards big like the store bought ones so they don't disappear and look so tiny next to them when displayed, LOL!

I wish the pics did this justice.... I love the gold shimmery foil background that reminds me of dragon scales. I love the gold glittery paper for the heart and the sparkly Arkenstone (The Heart of the Mountain). I used a blue metallic pen to outline the stone for added dimension and then topped it off with iridescent Stickles. I added the gold coins for effect. I think they were from Create A Critter. I drew on the sparkly spots using an orange glittery gel pen. They would have been way too tiny to cut out. Its sparkly and shimmery yet still masculine! The label is from the Fabulous Finds cartridge and I wrote out the sentiment since I didn't have a stamp (I should have typed it out, I hate my writing, lol!)

I distressed the inside panel to match the label on the front. I used Jaded Blossom So Many Birthdays 2 for the inside sentiment. He loved his card and said it was the best one I've made, yay!

Thank you so much for hopping by!
I hope you have a blessed day!

Planner Pages using Cricut Imagine Images in Design Space

Hello friends! Here is a video I made showing you the August pages from my Color Crush personal planner.  I had fun making my own stickers using Cricut Imagine cartridge images and the print then cut feature with my Cricut Expore. I've included a few tips from my experience with the print then cut feature.

I found this gorgeous charm that goes perfectly with my purple and gold planner!

Nothing too fancy. Just playing with stickers as I try to stay organized. Here is the calendar spread using images from Imagine Lori's Garden. I love that hummingbird!

I even cut out reinforcement stickers for the holes using the patterned paper from this cartridge. I played around using border stickers since I don't have pretty washi tape to play with.

Some of these images are from the Better Together cartridge. I created this stack of bunnies card with print and cut using this Molang image. I love this pile of chunky bunnies! It works as a fabulous insert to attach notes to the back.

Thanks so much for hopping by!

Have a blessed day!

Just Bee-cause Bee Card and Tag

Hello friends! I have a card and tag set to share today. I challenged myself to try something new so I went for a distressed/grunge-ish-type of mixed media look. I usually like colorful and cute but these bees were calling me into a different direction....

I made a 5.5"x 5"5 inch square card. I used a couple bees from Jessica Lynn Original stamps that I colored up a while back. It is the digi version of her Big Fat Bee Stamp. I used both Copics (for the black) and Spectrum Noir markers (for the yellows). I added some Wink of Stella to the wings to give them a bit of sparkle.  The paper is from BoBunny and is called Trail Mix Hollow.

I distressed the edges of the paper and charcoal cardstock layers. I also used Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The honeycomb is an altered cut I made using my Cricut Artfully Sent cartridge in DS. I inked the around the  edges and then I painted it with the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors Gold. I love that stuff! I bought the palette  a while back and was happy to open it up and give it a try. I felt like it needed something more so I added the black rafia bow. I thought about adding bling but I decided to let the bee and sparkly honeycomb be the focus.

Here is the inside. Both sentiments are from the Pink By Design Honey Pie set.

The medallion on the front is from Gina Marie Dies and I added metallic gold  Wink of Luna around the edges and distressed it with the walnut stain as well.

I used the Gina Marie Dropped Pennant dies to make my tag. I decorated it similarly to the card and added a raffia tie.

Thank you all so much for hoppin' by!

Oh, HAPPY day!

Hello crafty friends! I'm so happy to be back in my craft room today to share this card with you! The kids are back in school woo hoo!! I do start back to work next week and I am so looking forward to getting back on schedule. This summer has been BUSY! I have decided to finish projects that I have started and go through and use my stuff instead of buying more, (well at least I am trying to curb my spending, haha) To get things going, here is the first thing I made....

I colored up these cutie pie bears with Copics a while back from Gerda Steiner Designs and wanted to get them on a birthday card to start replenishing my stash. I used distress inks to color in the scalloped circle. This paper is from DCWV paper stack and I think I've had it for over 10 years LOL!

The dies are from My favorite Things and Gina Marie Designs. I spashed some pink sequins from my stash to help make things sparkle. The sentiments are from My Craft Spot stamps which closed down a while back.

I border punched the inside pink layer and used the Mama Elephant pop up dies to add my second bear. This added the right amount of cuteness as you open up the card.

Thanks so much for hoppin by! I hope you have a blessed day!

Hawaiian Shirt Shaped Card

Hi crafty friends! Here is a card I made back in June for my Father-in law for Father's Day. I guess with so much going on this summer I forgot to post it haha! He wears Hawaiian shirts all the time and has a few of these Tommy Bahama style shirts.

You all know by now that I love to come up with my own original card designs and I dream them up in my head and try to create them.  I don't usually copy other peoples work but this card I have to say I tried to copy as much as possible. The original is perfection! I found a blogger while browsing Pinterest one day named Tami White. She has a ton of videos and is so bubbly and fun! What a talented gal! You can find her post for her design of this card HERE

I created the cuts in Design Space and made my version of this card much bigger at 5.5"x7".  My ink blending is not the best and I'm still working on building that skill but I think it came across nicely for this card. The Palm Tree is from a mini Inkadinkado stamp that I had forgotten all about. I think I got it in the dollar section at Michaels or Joanns years ago. I used mini brads for the buttons and the stitching is from the Paper Smooches Stitched Dies.

The sentiments are from Joy's Life stamps. The inside stitched die is from Gina Marie Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I stamped the inside with the palm trees as well. My FIL loved this card! I was happy to put a smile on his face!

Lady & The Tramp Anniversary Heart Shaped Card

Hello crafty friends! Today my hubby and I are celebrating 18 happy years of marriage! Woo hoo! I am feeling very blessed and oh so thankful. Lady & the Tramp was the theme to our wedding so I decided to use that for my card theme.

I made a heart shaped card base with silver card stock and sized it at 5.75" tall. The Lady and the Tramp SVG is from a talented friend at the Krafty Nook blog. I cut it out at over 5.3 inches because of all the little tiny pieces. I inked all the pieces with Tim Holtz distress inks.

The heart background was blended using Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress inks. I used a paint brush to splatter water and I also used my metallic silver Wink Of Luna to splatter little silver specs as well. Lastly I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to add more specs and to sparkle up the hearts. The sparkle however did NOT stick to the blended background. So I spread the glitter with a baby wipe and the sparkle pen left watermarks. I will keep this in mind the next time I blend a background.

I tried to capture the sparkle but it would not photograph well for me today. I used Glossy Accents over the eyes which added just the right touch.

I had a hard time with whether to use a sentiment on the front or not but ultimately decided to go without. On the inside I stamped heart pawprints from the Christmas Doggy Stamps at My Creative Time and the Happy Anniversary sentiment from MCT Many Greetings.

Thank you so much for hoppin by!!!
