Forrest Gump Birthday Card

Hello friends! Well I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I had some good crafting time with the Craftin Desert Divas release. It was a bit tough at first to get back into it but I managed to get quite a few projects done.

My daughter's friend is a big fan of  Forrest Gump. So I worked on this to make an unconventional  but special card for her.

I made this svg with an image I found on Google. It's a very simple image but very recognizeable. I wanted to do a feminine card so I thought maybe I could use layers to soften it up.

I used the CDD Fancy Frame Dies the Mini banner dies. One of my crafting goals for this year is to use my many treasures in my craft room. So I pulled out my Fastenator and sorted through my box of staples and found the SMILE sentiment and decided to use that to attach my banners.

I found the feather on the Cricut Artiste cartridge. I popped it up and glittered it up with my Wink of Stella. I think it added the perfect touch!

For the inside I found this quote and printed it out. The recipient was over the moon happy with it so my mission was accomplished!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate your sweet comments.

Have a blessed day!!

Craftin Desert Divas January Release Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to the CDD January Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop.
All stamps & Dies are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase HERE
Day 2 of the hop starts at the CDD blog here!

Here's what I've created for you...

I made a couple Valentine shaker bookmarks for my kids. I couldn't resist crafting with these  mini stamps Slow and Scent. I used my Cricut to cut the bookmark from the When I Was A Kid cartridge. I changed the dimensions to fit my stamps and they measure 2.2" x 5.5".  I then stamped and embossed these 2 cuties and used the masking technique to stamp the books. The sentiment for the turtle is from the CDD Totally Turtle stamps. The stack of books stamp is from the Beyond Measure stamps.

Once I had everything colored with my SN markers and glued together, I sprinkled the new hearts sequins over each bookmark and used my fuse tool to seal them in. I haven't used it in a couple months and had to relearn my technique. It took me a few tries to get it just right. I'm not convinced that the seal will last forever LOL!

I used eyelets for the hole and pulled some ribbon through
 and that was about it!

I definitely want to make some more of these. It was fun! I hope you like them!

Sneak Peek projects for Craftin Desert Divas January Release

Hello friends! This week is the new release at Craftin Desert Divas!! We did our sneak peeks on Facebook. I have a lot to share with you today! Here are all the projects I made so far this week:

I made this CAS card, I think my very first one ever, using the new Heart of Hearts Die. I backed the card with this rich, beautiful, red glitter card stock. I made a heart frame with my Cricut and colored the Chickie stamp in it.

It has been gloomy so my pics aren't the best. It is really glittery and much prettier in person.

I stamped the inside with this sentiment from the Happy Celebrations set and glued some of the glittery heart cutouts.

Next I made this shaker card featuring the new Moose mini stamps. I used the Fancy Frame dies for the layers. The stitched rectangle and banner are from the Mix It Up Dies. The heart and scalloped frame was cut using my Cricut.

I filled the shaker with the new Sweetness and Coral Heart Sequins.  I cut the arrow die from the new Heart of Hearts die set and stamped and embossed the sentiment.

For the inside I used the Fancy Frame dies again for the layers and the sentiment is from the Sending Love stamps.

This card I made using the sweet love birds from the new Lovies stamps. I tried some no line coloring although I ended up drawing an outline LOL! I've been experimenting with my new Copics and mixing them up with my Spectrum Noirs.

I backed the heart cutouts with Shimmer Sheetz. I really love the way it looks behind the Heart of Hearts Die. I added the arrow and glitterd it up with my Wink of Stella. I sprinkled with some Cotton Candy sequins.

I used the silver foil paper again for the inside. The sentiments are from the Sending Love stamps.

I made a heart shaped card with my Cricut. I cut the top layer out with water color paper. I did the background with my Zig and Spectrum Noir Aqua markers. I added some gold paint specs to finish it off.

I colored the cutie pie giraffes with my Spectrum Nori markers and fussy cut them.

Here is the inside.

My final sneak peek project is featuring the new Sweet Kisses stamps and the Fancy Stitched Labels Dies. I used the dies to make my shaker tags. The background for both tags is stamped using the Celebration Word Art Stamps. I added the ruffle bows from my Cricut. The mice are colored with Copics and SN Markers and I glittered up the heart cookies with Stickles.

I filled this shaker with the Sweetness and Coral Hearts sequins.

This shaker is filled with Pink Hearts and Snow & Ice Sequins. Well that is all for the sneak peeks from me. Today and tomorrow is the blog hop starting at the Craftin Desert Divas Blog. Tara will be giving away a $50 gift certificate to the CDD shop to one lucky winner who hops along. The more comments you leave the more chances you have to win. I hope you will join us!

Our Sponsors for this Linky Party are:

One 4"x 6" stamp set
One Digi Stamp of choice

$25 Gift Card (Regular Priced Items)

Here is what I made..

I used my Cricut and took this cheese image from the Create A Critter cartridge and welded it into a card base. I popped up the top layer with the holes and inserted these adorable little mice from the Fur-ever Friends stamps. I colored them with my new Copics and a couple colors from my Spectrum Noir markers. I just love how they look peeking out from the holes!!

I decided the card needed some more color so I used the balloon dies from the CDD Party Dies and cut them out with bright papers. I hand cut the banner and stamped the sentiment from the Monster Mania set.

I added some inside layers to help balance the weight on the front.

Finally I stamped the inside with this cute sentiment and cheese from Fur-ever Friends.

Here are all the CDD products I used:

Fur-Ever Friends
Monster Mania
