Bunny Flip Book For A Crafty Swap

Hello friends! Today I am getting caught up after spending most of Spring Break in Arizona visiting the grandparents. What a LONG drive!! But we had a nice time! I am sharing the flip book I made for a crafty meetup I attended the day before I left for our trip, along with a video showing what I did with those goody bags I made for my Jaded Blossom post.

Jaded Blossom February 2017 Release Blog Hop

Hey Everyone! 

Welcome to Jaded Blossom's Febuary 2017 Release Blog Hop.  

Now if you're here from Mel's blog you're in the right place, if you're just passing through start at the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.  I also have the complete line up at the bottom. Here is what I made:

I made an Easter themed letter style flip book for a crafty penpal.

I've been participating in more and more swaps and meeting some very fun crafty ladies. I had so much fun making this for my latest swap project! For the front I used the Spring Dies 1 (v2) for the bunnies. flowers, eggs and grass. I used the new Bunny Mail stamps to decorate it. The backside is sealed with a decorated heart from the JB Heart Dies 2

Here is the inside. I decorated it with bright, fun, Spring colors. I cut out Happy Spring using the new Spring Word Dies. I made lots of egg cutouts and tucked them in the top pocket. I used several sentiments from the new Easter Basket Fun, Bunny Mail and Spring Sweet Treats. I stamped the faces on the eggs using the Happy Fall stamps. All the little bows are from the Bow Dies. I cut lots of butterflies from the Spring Dies 2.

I made 3 tags using the Treat Tag Dies. I colored up the bunny from the Easter Basket Fun stamps and cut him out and tucked him behind the egg. The sign is from the Fall Dies.

Now on to my project....

I made an Easter card using a stamp image from the CDD Hunny Bunny set and

 a sentiment  from Punny. I tried something new and I water colored this cutie

 and background. I first stamped the bunny on watercolor  paper using the Tim Holtz Walnut distress ink. After it completely dried I used a small paint brush and filled it in. It was challenging for me because I'm not used to using a brush and I found myself wanting to "fix" the watercolored marks to even them out. I showed my daughter and husband and they both said, "It's supposed to look like that! That's what gives it the water colored look!" So I started leaving the little puddles alone, lol!  

I decided to paint pastel, striped layers for the background. That wasn't too hard. But working with paper piecings for so many years I felt like it was too plain....I don't know that I've ever made a single layer card before. So I added a die cut egg frame with a scallop border using the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge. I ran the lavender layer through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.

Of course it needed more lol, so I added the bow which I made with an SVG and stamped this adorable sentiment on the banner. And last but not least it needed some sparkle so I went over the bow and scallop frame with my Wink of Stella pen. This picture shows the shimmer. I may have taken away the whole look of a water colored card by adding too many other layers and elements but clean and simple is not easy for me! I did have fun even though it was harder to stay in the lines with a wet paint brush, lol!

I made an Easter card using the bunny from the CDD Deer Friends and a sentiment from the Happy Celebrations stamp sets. The egg die cut is from the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge. I embossed the egg and the scallop frame. I added a little butterfly and topped it with some pearls. The bow is from the Artiste cartridge and I added a heart brad. The papers are all from my scraps box :)

Easter Quilt Card with Bunny

Today I made an Easter card. I'm so happy with the way it turned out that I am already starting a second one.  I have been going through my Mother's storage unit and trying to organize her collections to help her sell them and came across a ton of quilting books. It makes me realize I need to craft as much as I can and make it a priority so my stuff doesn't end up in a storage shed one day.  Anyway I had quilting on the brain so I went to work.  I wanted to use scraps so I grabbed my scrap box and picked out some bright paper. The picture does not show just how pretty the bright pink is. The pic makes it look almost coral since I have no sunlight in my room today. 

 I used my Creative Memories Fancy Square Maker to punch out the 12- 1 1/8" squares.I aligned the squares and glued them down on the blue cardstock which I cut at 3.75" x  5". I then used my Cuttlebug to emboss it with a folder from the Retro Kitchen set. I chose it because looks like it has stitching. I am really happy with how it looks.

I got the bunny from my Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge nd popped him up. It's the same bunny cut I used for my farm card in a box. I just love him! I handcut a banner and stamped it with a Studio G stamp and added the cute little buttons I got from Joanns.

For the inside I used my Fiskars corner punch for the tulips and used the pretty bright pink cardstock. This was quick and simple to put together and I am going to try some variations in the design with my next quilting cards.

Hog Wild Birthday Card In a Box

Today I have a card I made using 3 Cricut cartridges that I have had for a long while and had not used til now: Country Life, County Fair, and Easter 2010. I actually have a ton of cartridges that I have yet to even open. If only I could camp out in my Craft room for a week or more I might be able to crack a dent into the hidden treasures of that room! This card I made for my amazing Aunt's birthday. She loves the country and the critters especially piggies.

I made another Card in a Box which I have been getting a lot of compliments on. These cards pop open and leave such a smile on the faces of the recipients. They fold flat and can be placed in an envelope. I just love them!

I created the farm scene using the barn from the County Fair. I inked and embossed the front layer of the barn to add a cool dimension. I also got the fence and chicken from this cartridge. I cut the chicken layers out a bit bigger than the fence so it would cut out right. The design papers are from the 12x12 DCWV Kitchen Stack that I picked up at Joann's for $6! (Always lookin' for a bargain :)

The pig and chicken, and grass hills are cut from the Country Life cartridge. I think I bought this cartridge just for this pig cut! And the sewing machine, which I have plans to make for a future card. The clouds are from Zooballoo and the bunny from Easter 2010. Omgosh that cartridge is full of bunny goodness that I have yet to explore! The bee and white bird are from Jolees. They are so tiny and cute and I cut my Cricut case into strips to attach them. They are so cute and sway when you move the box.  I used my computer to type the sentiments since I didn't have any stamps to fit the occasion. I inked and blinged and added a cottontail to the bunny as well as a red ribbon to the front. 

I hope you enjoyed my card. As you know the details don't quite make it into the photos but I tried to get some good angles. I will participate in the following challenges:
