Hello my crafty friends! It is my day at Exploring Cricut and More to share a project with you. Here is an invitation I made for my daughter's 14th Birthday sleepover. The party was book themed because my daughter is CRAZY about books. She reads through them in a day. My husband also loves book and we have an office/library that he displays all his beautiful leather bound, foil embossed books. That was my inspiration for these cards.
I used my Wrap It Up cartridge for the shaped card cut. Most of the books in our library are jewel toned so I went through my textured cardstock and picked out these colors with coordinating glitter cardstock. I cut the cardbase at 5.5" and then cut and separated additional layers to add more color to each book. It is hard to see in the pics but the glitter paper is so sparkly and the colors are so vibrant. I stamped and hand wrote in gold metallic ink the words on the front of the book.
I printed out the inside message with my computer and mailed them off. The party was a hit. We played some book trivia games, watched movies and of course the "teenagers" were just fine chatting and hanging out with eachother.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project.
I will participate in the following challenges:

Wow, such a super COOL idea for a themed birthday....and LOVE the matching invites you created! I'm betting your daughter got a lot of oohs and aahhs from her friends when she passed them out. Gosh, you did a fabulous job of hand lettering the book titles...don't think I could ever do that!
