Soak Up The Sun

Hi everyone! Today over on the La-La Land Crafts blog we are creating cards with a "Tropical" theme. Thinking back to when I visited Hawaii and the turtles that swam in the waters inspired me to create this card: 

I made a slimline card featuring the adorable penguin from the Just Chill stamp set. (All products and links are below) I stamped, embossed and colored her up using Copic markers. For the scalloped layer I used the second to largest die from the Scalloped Rectangles die and did partial die-cutting technique.

Using Distress Oxide Inks and the Summer Is Here Layering Stencil I created an ocean background. I made a sandy shore layer to stamp and emboss the sentiment. The turtle was fun to create. I colored it using Copic markers and added the eyes using a black gel pen.

Hello my crafty friends! Today over on the La-La Land Crafts blog we are featuring projects using the LLLC background stamps or stencils. Here is what I created:

I created a card using the Wood Planks background stamps. I thought it made the perfect wood floor accent for my card! The adorable pups are from the Pardon My Frenchie Clear stamps. (Product list and links below) First I stamped, embossed and colored up the adorable pups using Copic markers. For the background panel I cut out a rectangle from the Spring Has Sprung paper pack to use for wallpaper. For the molding I used the Build-A-Frame Stitched Large Die. 

To decorate the wall I created a picture frame and stamped another pup and sentiment. For a finishing touch I added the ball cut from the Double Stitched Circles die. I layered this panel onto a scalloped rectangle and adhered to a 4in x 5.5in card base.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 4

 

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share the reveals for Day 4 of the Newton's Nook Designs June Release. Today we have two new roundabout stamp sets! Here is what I created:

Using the new BBQ Roundabout I stamped, embossed and colored up the images with Copic markers. This is such a fun summer themed stamp set! I cut it out using the scalloped circle from the Circle Frames Die that coordinates perfectly with the Roundabout stamps. For the background layer I used the Gingham Stencil to dry emboss and add texture. 

I cut a layer of red checkered patterned paper and trimmed it with black cardstock. I stamped and embossed the sentiment to create a fun summer BBQ themed card!

For my second card I stamped and embossed the new Seashell Roundabout stamp and sentiment onto the scalloped rectangle from the Frames & Flags Die Set with gold embossing powder. I then colored up the seashells using very light colors of Copic markers. 

To add a finishing touch I added some tinted flatback pearls. I really like how this card turned out with the pastel color scheme :)

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 3

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you the Day 3 reveals for the Newton's Nook Designs June Release. Today we have 2 new stamps and coordinating dies. Here is what I created:

 

I created a slimline card featuring 2 of the images from this new Kitten Beach stamps. Using the scalloped layer from Slimline Frames & Portholes Die I ink blended a sandy beach background. I stamped, embossed and colored the images using Copic markers and cut them out using the coordinating dies. 

I framed the images using the window from the Slimline Frames & Windows Die. I stamped and embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder with the banner die from the Banner Trio Die set.

For my second card I stamped, embossed and colored up these pups from the new Beach Barks stamps and cut it out with the coordinating die. For the background I ink blended an ocean background onto the scalloped rectangle from the Frames & Flags Dies. 

Using the Waves Stencil I added some sparkle with Nuvo Glimmer Paste. For the sandy beach I cut out a layer using the Land Borders Die and ink blended it using Distress Inks. 

Finally I stamped and embossed the sentiment. I just adore these new stamps. They are just the cutest!! I hope you will hop along to see all the fantastic projects by the design team :)

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 2

 

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you the Day 2 reveals for the Newton's Nook Designs June Release!  Today we are featuring two new stamps and coordinating dies along with a layering Retro Sun & Palms Stencil! Here is what I created:

For my first card I created a serene scene using the new Summer Moments stamp set and coordinating dies. I stamped, embossed and colored them using Copic markers. For the blue ocean and sky background I used Distress Oxides inks along with the Clouds Stencil and Waves Stencil. I added some Nuvo Glimmer Paste to the waves to give it a sparkly finish.

For the sand I cut a strip out with the Land Borders Die and inked it up with Distress Inks and ink splatter. Then I stamped and embossed the sentiment. I love the little tote bag and seashell images that come in this set as well!

For my second card I used the new Retro Sun and Palms Stencil. I inked up the stencil off center and used blues for the water and pinks, yellows and oranges for the sun. I love how this retro stencil takes me back to the '80s and is reminiscent of the OP brand. Using black ink I used the palm trees and birds over the top. 

Then I colored up the kitty from the new Newton's Seashell stamp with Copics and used the coordinating die to cut him out. I embellished with some iridescent sequins and colored up some sand below the kitty.
